hunkering down.

When the weather starts to get cooler the reality of the size of our home starts to set in. We no longer have our back yard living room and so getting creative with beating the greys and making all space usable is paramount.

Here are a couple of sneak peeks of the winterizing of our home. Some bright colors to make even the greyest mornings a little snappier. And the repurposing of a neglected crib mattress to extend our afternoon’s filled with books.

Next up? Some new pallet shelves, a different head board, more bright painting, and eventually a new extra cozy rug for the family room. Oh, and lots of pumpkin eating too, roasting pumpkins warms up our home and our bellies!

  1. I have repurposed the crib bed as well for our downstairs space. Put up an old tie dyed sheet above to make it a fort. I can nurse Caprice while Cadence & I play or read a book and V is at school.

  2. I love the net you hung above the mattress to make an amazingly cool reading space. And speaking of pumpkin eating, pumpkin seeds hot out of the oven are just about my favorite fall snack.
