Have you seen chalk board tape (right? I KNOW.) I have seen it on a few blogs and when I researched it I was little taken a back by the price so I thought, meh, I could make that.
I already have chalk board paint on hand, and have chalked basically every non porous surface of my home. So I laid out some contact paper, gave it a couple of coats and let it dry.
Voila! Chalk board tape. If you were more patient or even handed than I am, you would get a much cleaner result. But this worked for now!
I have seen jars with chalkboard space on them all over pintrest but I didn’t want to permanently mark the jars since I am so fickle with decorating. And who knows what will be cool and enticing next (I think cork board. . . I want to cork board everything, is there cork board paint? MAKE THAT.)
This is a super easy way of making non permanent changes to stuff, Charlie stuck a piece on the mirror in our bathroom to leave sweet notes, I was thinking this would also be a fun idea for labeling things as an early reading skill. Lots of good ideas, not to mention how cute it would be on a a wrapped gift. Adorable, easy and free if you have the stuff laying around.

My husband is this way with white board paint. His office is beyond ridiculous.
I picked up a sample roll of chalkboard contact paper from the local Ben Franklins last spring and totally attacked my pantry with it. Great minds! Also, I put a rectangle of it on the dishwasher to label it’s status (so my hubs and kids have some incentive to put their dishes in it themselves!)
