“Junk Food” and “Junk TV” – we are trying hard to be cognizant of what goes into our girls both eyes and mouth. Obviously we fail sometimes and some store bought french fries or crappy reality TV gets eaten or observed (darn my love of Project Runway!) but for the most part we are really aware of what we feed and show to Nolie.
I love traditions. Things that are just a part of your family calendar and tapestry, nights that our girls can count on and remember as important and special, even though we don’t go anywhere or spend a lot of money. For this movie night we took a long walk to the library to pick out something to watch and then came home and made some homemade junk food. It was perfect. I think pizza, popcorn and movie night might have to become weekly deal.
Homemade pizza and stovetop popcorn. YUM. These recipes and meals are easy peasy and mostly topped with stuff we had around the kitchen anyhow. We love homemade pizza around this house and this one didn’t disappoint.
easy GREEK pizza
homemade dough (though you could easily pick up dough from your favorite pizza joint or Trader Joe’s) topped with. . .
pesto, feta and grape tomatoes then baked. After it is baked we put on garlic scapes (from our garden!), spinach, walnuts and balsamic. YUM
And the secret to super tasty stove top popcorn? Coconut Oil (isn’t that the secret to everything!?). So tasty.
We rented Mr.Rogers goes to the circus and everyone loved it. Seriously, Mr. Rogers is teaching lessons that kids of all ages (even the mid twenties variety) need to hear. And nothing makes me burst more than Nolie giving Ever a smile and saying “see Ever, I am smiling at you because being sweet is a part of loving” yep, yep it is.
Happy Weekend! This Sunday is Ever’s baby dedication… and you better believe the girls will be wearing their very first coordinating outfits.

They are so so cute!!
Happy dedication, Ever! A truly blessed little girl indeed.
