Busy first week! Busy that is, sitting on the couch nursing nonstop, and watching Say Yes to the Dress while I eat incredible food that far better cooks than me have made for us. All in all, a pretty successful first week of life for our little Ever and our new family of 4(!).
So cool!!! I really want to do this when we have kids, and I know it’s going to totally squick out my fiance (he already looks at me like I’m a crazy hippy when I mention that, ideally, I want to birth our future children at home… but I will win him over), so it makes me really happy when I see other people doing it. Gives me something to point to and shout, “See? Totally normal!”
that placenta is pretty cool and definitely a tree of life. Have you ever heard people say, “I just want to eat that baby up?” Some people think it sounds cannibalistic; but, I think it’s a term of endearment. That’s how I feel about that pic of Ever.

That is, by far, one of the most bright-eyed, alert looking newborns I’ve ever seen. She’s taking it all in already. Also, beautiful placenta! Lucky Ever!

Wow! So amazing to see the placenta! I have read recently that women put it into pill form and it helps out a lot with energy and such. I look forward to hearing about it. Your daughters are beautiful, just like their Mama. I love the name you choose for Ever – so pretty, unique, and whimsical.
