Easy DIY hair clip

Nolie is a fancy girl. She loves skirts and twirling, boots and silly hats and, recently she has been pretty taken with hair accessories. I  made a yarn wreath for our door a couple of nights ago and some little felt flowers to put on it with the help of pintrest and some easy tutorials. The next day I was thinking that those same little flowers would make darling hair clips.

I looked at quite a few different tutorials for different kind of felt flowers but felt like this one was the easiest and sturdiest- two year old hands are far from gentle. . .

I put this on a big clip because Nolie has enough hair that I don’t need to use alligator clips any more and this way I can borrow it! This first one took about 10 minutes but the ones I have made since (Nolie requested a yellow and a blue) each took maybe 5 minutes. I am thinking these will make nice fast Christmas gifts or stocking stuffer for sweet little girls. And you better believe if we are having another girl she will be sporting a big headband one when she is tiny!

Also, just a reminder. I have switched domains and hosts (wordpress from blogger) so my posts won’t show up in your reader unless you update it or subscribe (that little RSS button) or follow (the box to the right!). For this week I will be posting from blogger too (not even sure if that works though…) so that you will  keep getting my posts in your blogger reader but that will stop soon (end of the week)! So please, if you like reading then follow me here at my new space. Thanks so much!!

  1. Those are the cuteness. I was planning on making some similar ones out of some old kimono fabric for party favors for Amelia’s birthday…that would be totally cute.

Also, congrats on the new blog :D Rita is amazing.

  2. I’m glad you mentioned headbands, because my first thought (well, second, after, “Holy wow, that is a beautiful child!”) was “How sweet would that be on a headband?!” Especially on a bitty babe.

  5. She ‘s so adorable. Cuddly baby, I think she need something that makes her smile. I really can’t resist every baby’s charm. They were so cute that even when they’re too messy you can’t help but kiss and hug them.:)
